Thyroid Goiter Symptoms


Thyroid goiter symptoms appear when there is a thyroid problem that may result from a number of conditions or disorders. A goiter is an enlarged thyroid gland. Thyroid goiter symptoms often include:

  • A tight feeling in the throat area.
  • Difficulty swallowing because of compression of the esophagus.
  • Dizziness occurs when the arms are raised above the head.
  • Hoarseness in the voice.
  • Neck vein become more prominent.
  • Shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing may occur because the windpipe is being compressed.
  • Swelling in the lower front part of the neck.

The following thyroid goiter symptoms are also signs of hyperthyroidism, which is also called overactive thyroid or high thyroid.

  • A higher pulse rate, even when resting.
  • Abnormal perspiration.

  • General feeling of agitation.
  • Increased heart rate.
