Thyroid Goiter Symptoms
Thyroid goiter symptoms appear when there is a thyroid problem that may result from a number of conditions or disorders. A goiter is an enlarged thyroid gland. Thyroid goiter symptoms often include:
- A tight feeling in the throat area.
- Difficulty swallowing because of compression of the esophagus.
- Dizziness occurs when the arms are raised above the head.
- Hoarseness in the voice.
- Neck vein become more prominent.
- Shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing may occur because the windpipe is being compressed.
- Swelling in the lower front part of the neck.
The following thyroid goiter symptoms are also signs of hyperthyroidism, which is also called overactive thyroid or high thyroid.
- A higher pulse rate, even when resting.
- Abnormal perspiration.

- Increased heart rate.
- Nausea.
- Shaking and tremors.

These thyroid goiter symptoms are signs of hypothyroidism, which is also called underactive thyroid or low thyroid. Some people with goiters may also have hypothyroidism.
